Post-Production - Semester-in-the-Air

POST-PRODUCTION PHASE - 3 weeks

Final Editing

In the final three weeks, after returning home from the six week trip, students will finish editing their movie(s) and develop their own promotional web site using Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Flash (optional), and Cleaner for video compression on the web.

Specific edit strategies will be discussed with each student via email or on the phone in order for students to get instructor feedback and assistance on the final production of their film(s).

Web Premiere of Student Films

A showcase of student films will be announced on the School web site
as a "Web Premiere Event" on the last day of each semester. Any student films not "ready for primetime" by the end of the semester will be uploaded as soon as they are completed.

Upon successful completion of their movie(s), students will receive a Certificate in Digital Filmmaking, a personal letter of recommendation, free entry of their movie(s) into the RES film festival and alumni discounts on future training and software.

DVD Master discs
The School will also create a DVD master of each students' film, as well as, produce a collaborative "Semester-in-the-Air" documentary movie that will include material edited from each students' movie(s). The documentary will serve as a professional record of the filmmaking adventure and each student will receive a personal copy for their portfolio including professional filmmaking credits.

The School will mail out the DVD master of each students' film and the "Semester-in-the-Air" documentary film as soon as possible following the end of the semester.
