The Latin America Forest Team of EIA documented and exposed the complicated web of illegal deforestation, powerful corporate power, pervasive corruption, human rights violations, and a supply chain that reaches from the Rio Platano Biosphere Reserve (a UNCESCO World Heritage Site) to the shelves of "big box" retailers and furniture stores in the U.S. and Europe. Highlighted in the report:
