"I am really speechless
and inspired. While watching
the film I imagined myself
sitting on a concrete floor

"What
an amazing process.
So much artistry and patience
is required to carve a statue.
The filmmaker really caught
the artistic energy and attitude
of Nicholas so well. I want to
see the whole film."

Nicholas
Fairplay: Stone Carver
Original format: miniDV
Running time: 4:00
(Full version of film is 27:24)
This film interweaves an English Master Stone Carver's creation
of a seven-foot marble Venus with his thoughts on the ancient
craft and his personal story. Although his Venus is actually forged
through a long, painstaking process, this film immerses the audience
in a lifetime of making work "easy to view."
